| Function | In collaboration with all stakeholders, the Directorate establishes direction through the identification of priorities, and the development of strategies, policies and planning for improved health outcomes. The Directorate is responsible for the purchasing and monitoring of services to achieve these outcomes, and for acquiring resources maximising the amount of funds available for health services.
In addition, the Directorate has a primary role in protecting public health and minimising the risk of disease to the community. The Directorate is also responsible for the Business Services Bureau, which provides payroll, supply and financial support services for all staff within the health and community care portfolio. |
